#throwback to my Gypsy days! ๐Ÿ‘ฃ If youโ€™re a new follower, I spent years traveling the world by selling my jewelry out of a suitcase that I hitchhiked with!!๐Ÿงณ๐ŸŒˆ ๐Ÿ“ท This snapshot was from my trip to the Mayan temples in December 2012 โ˜€๏ธ๐ŸŒต๐ŸŒŽ I took my first airplane ride ever in my life, alone โ€”terrifying! โœˆ๏ธ I landed in Mexico and then hitchhiked alone for a couple days until I reached the World Rainbow Gathering in Palenque, MX. ๐ŸŒˆ There I ran into some of my other gypsy friends who had been off in other corners of the globe. Rainbow was amazing that year, a gathering of the brightest hippie souls across the planet in tropical paradise. The land was a tropical fruit and palm tree orchard with a huge river running through. We ate communal meals in a huge circle, prayed for world peace, and healed with plant medicine. Then we all went to visit the ancient Mayan Temples together at Chiapas. ๐Ÿ” A surreal experience, kinda creepy and saturated with richness of a mysterious history. ๐ŸŒด๐ŸŒด๐ŸŒด From there I hitchhiked down to Guatemala to spend the new year at a beautiful hippie town San Pedro and psytrance festival. ๐ŸŒ… I remember watching the sunrise by the lake that New Yearโ€™s Day, on lsd listening to all the exotic birds and looking around at the palm trees and tropical wonderland. I was so grateful to be somewhere warm in the winter for the first time in my life. I spent some time in Guatemala staying with locals and natives, just immersing myself in the culture. I sold jewelry and chocolates on the sidewalk down there for a while but eventually ran out of funds and hitchhiked back to the states. Hitchhiking in Central America is, while potentially dangerous, SO fun. Everyone does it so itโ€™s not looked down upon like in America. It only takes a few minutes to get a ride as opposed to a few hours or even days in the US. Anyway I got to Tijuana MX and walked across the border with $1 left to my name! I had to hitchhike from San Diego back up to Northern CA to start working again โœ‚๏ธ! Haha so thatโ€™s my summary of that adventure! I am thinking about writing a book about my years of traveling gypsy adventures. What do you think!? ๐ŸŒˆ๐ŸŒˆ๐ŸŒˆ
